Ambassadors

Become A #ReadLocal Ambassador

As a Hometown Reads Ambassador you will be helping further the Read Local movement in your hometown. This means being a point of contact for your local author s, helping them learn how to promote their books, and facilitating the growth of your local author community. We hope that as a liaison for our authors, you will also work to create opportunities for our authors to connect with one another locally.

Our Ambassador program is completely volunteer, and we are grateful for the time, no matter how small, that you will be willing to serve. We welcome locations to have multiple Ambassadors; in fact, we encourage participation from all authors.

Below you can sign up to volunteer in any area that you are willing to help. If you have any questions regarding our Ambassador Program, please email us directly.

Ambassadors will be be given a training video & instructional PDF on how to login into our website and edit pending books submissions. You will be proofing book pages for typos and missing information.

We want to build strong relationships in our community Facebook groups. You will be a moderator in your hometown’s group, approving new members, posting weekly, and encouraging author involvement.

We want to build our Read Local Champions program, and we’d like authors to approach their local library or bookstore to explore a partnership with us to support local authors.

We want local authors and readers to connect in person when they can. We need volunteers to plan and host these events in their hometown.

If you are attending a local author event, we would like you to let others know about us! We can provide resources to help you spread the word about the Read Local movement.

We want your feedback. You can volunteer to give us suggestions for future development of the site, the Hometown Reads experience, and more.
